We ran a 6 hour trip and the vermilion snapper bite was as good as it gets. As soon as we got set up, it was nonstop action. Lines going down and fish coming up one after another. At one point they were flying everywhere around the boat. Multiple fish on at the same time and nobody standing around waiting. This is the kind of trip that keeps everyone busy and smiling the whole time. We boxed out on vermilion snapper and added in a few bonus fish to round it out. We put together two 4 hour deep sea fishing trips back to back and both groups got in on some great action. The vermilion snapper bite has been as steady as it gets and it showed again on these trips. Both crews stayed busy the whole time with rods bent and fish coming over the rail. Along with the vermilion snapper, we also had some variety mixed in to keep things interesting, but the main focus was filling the box with quality keepers for dinner. We had a really solid 6 hour fishing trip in Panama City Beach with this group. They had fished with a few other captains before and told us this was their best trip yet. That’s always what we aim for — not just catching fish, but making sure everyone has a good time on the boat. Conditions were about as good as it gets. Calm seas, hot sun, and perfect spring weather. The fishing showed up too. We caught a pile of red snapper, along with triggerfish and vermilion snapper for the cooler. Then we had something you don’t see every day — a big octopus caught on hook and line. That was definitely the highlight and made for a great picture.
