Some of the best days on the water are when familiar faces step back aboard the New Beginning, and this family put together two excellent trips with us this week. Their first trip was an 8-hour deep sea fishing trip that produced 7 grouper, some quality red snapper, and a nice catch of vermilion snapper. The action stayed steady throughout the day and everyone had plenty of opportunities to bend the rods. A few days later they were back for a 6-hour trip and picked up right where they left off. This time they finished with a limit of red snapper, 2 red grouper, and more vermilion snapper for the fish box. One of the coolest parts of these trips was seeing the young man in the photos back on board. He’s been fishing with me since he was just 3 years old, and now at 9 years old he’s catching fish completely on his own. Watching kids grow into confident anglers over the years is one of the most rewarding parts of running a fishing charter. The red snapper fishing has been excellent, and we’re seeing some quality grouper mixed in as well.
