Grey Triggerfish Opens March 1st Panama City Beach

March 1st marks the opening of Grey Triggerfish season in the Gulf of Mexico, running through May 31st — and we’re ready to get back after them.

With triggerfish reopening, our primary keeper species will now include:

• Red Grouper

• Grey Triggerfish

• Vermilion Snapper

These are currently the top three most consistent keeper fish on our deep sea fishing trips out of Panama City Beach. While additional species may be available depending on conditions, this combination provides steady action and excellent table fare.

Grey Triggerfish season has consistently opened March 1 through May 31 over the past several years, making early spring one of the most productive times to fish offshore in the Gulf.

Booked an eight hour trip with these guys and I cannot say enough about their service, experience, and fishing talentâ€¦Brandon did a fantastic job driving the boat â€¦ And Hayden did an incredible job getting us on fishâ€¦ There was nine of us and he single-handedly ran the entire deck... it was amazingâ€¦ From cutting the bait to getting us on fish ,to getting them unhooked and back in the water or in the ice chest.. he never panicked over tangles, snags or anythingâ€¦ We caught well over 150 fish and we simply cannot wait to get back to go with them againâ€¦ It was a very memorable experience and New Beginnings is 100% responsible for that!

Great Fun! I can't think these guys enough for the great fun they provided to me and my friend who was visiting from Northern Ireland. She had never done anything like this before and everyone was so nice. They made us both feel relaxed and we had a great time. Definitely recommend.

I have lived in Panama City for the past 20 years and fishing is what I do for recreation. I went fishing with CAPT Steve for the first time on Tuesday, 13 Jun 2017, and it was the best charter trip I have ever been. Steve and his crew run a very professional operation. Everything is ready to go, all you have to do is show up and wait until he blows the horn. When he does, you better be ready to do some serious "catching" . I'm not wasting my time anywhere else. This was the first deep sea fishing trip for our grown daughters and their 3 young daughters (12, 10, 7)...everyone caught a fish! Captain Steve and deckhand Brian were very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The weather turned bad and we had to come in early, so not able to fish as long as we would have liked, but we all had a fish, and were made to feel comfortable and safe...We highly recommend the Legendary New Beginings for deep sea fishing!

Best charter boat I've been on! I've fished on many charter boats in the past 13 years...and by far this was the best trip I've had. Great crew, Captain Steve handled the boat like a champ when the weather picked up and kept putting us on fish throughout the day. Matt the deckhand was probably the best I've dealt with...Highly recommend these guys for everybody from a family trip to a friends trip, had a great time and I am booking my next trip soon!

Great group of people. We had a blast fishing with these guys. Steve and Matt have over a lifetime of experience between the two of them. I have been fishing for red snapper since I was a kid. It wasn't until a trip on the Legendary New Beginning that I caught my biggest one. The accommodations are fit for anybody young or old. We are already booking another trip for this summer.

GREAT experience. We took our family on a 6 hour trip today. Captain Steve put us on the fish regularly despite the annoyingly hungry dolphins. Matt was a phenomenal deckhand - he was GREAT with the kids. I typically do one trip per year and this is the best experience we've had. I was very hesitant to book since there were no tripadvisor reviews to go on (I've used a highly rated charter at the same marina previously) but our rental company recommended him. We already reserved our next trip (10 hours) with Legendary New Beginning! Can't wait to be a repeat customer.
